County Applies For Drug Grant
Hopes are high Marinette County will receive a grant to help start treating some convicted drug users. Tuesday, the Marinette County Board of Supervisors has approved the submission of grant to start a Treatment and Diversion program with an integrated drug court. Marinette County Sheriff Jerry Sauve says the growing drug problem is something the county just can’t arrest its way out of. And Sheriff Sauve is hopeful this will alleviate some of the crowding issues at the Marinette County Jail. Marinette County would need to contribute over $94,000 for the grant. With the county's match, the TAD and Drug Court grant would be worth nearly $380,000.
