MI & WI Miss Race To The Top
Michigan and Wisconsin are not among the 16 finalists for the $4.5 billion available from the federal Race to the Top program. Both states found out Thursday they missed out on the funds designed to help struggling schools and overall education efforts. Michigan had applied for over $500 million from the Race to the Top program. Wisconsin was hoping for $254 million. There is still a second chance for the states to apply for Race to the Top funds.
