Shanty Removal Time
It’s a sure sign of spring as the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources begins the call to remove ice shanties from the state’s waters. On waters south of Highway 64, unused shelters must be removed daily before midnight starting on Sunday. Shelters north of Highway 64 must be removed daily starting on March 15th. Anglers on the Menominee River have about another week to leave their shelters unattended. Shanties on Wisconsin-Michigan boundary waters must be removed by March 15th.
